GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) today announced the appointments of Lucille T. Sgaglione as executive vice president and Kenneth P. Sroka as senior vice president. The appointments are effective immediately.

In a newly created role, Ms. Sgaglione will assume oversight responsibility for business shared services, information technology and marketing. She joined W. R. Berkley Corporation in 2010 as a senior vice president working with several of the Company’s operating units and has over 25 years of senior leadership experience in the commercial property casualty insurance industry. Ms. Sgaglione earned a B.A. and M.A. in History from Stony Brook University and Columbia University, respectively, and a J.D. from St. Johns University.

Ken Sroka succeeds Ms. Sgaglione with oversight responsibility for certain of the Company’s operating units. He joins the Company with 40 years of experience in the property casualty insurance industry, including senior leadership positions at a major international insurance group. Mr. Sroka holds a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of an executive management program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
